Consider supporting our community work with an individual donation of your choosing. The Essex Foundation serves as an umbrella for local giving and makes it possible to address specific needs and wishes. It provides the same continuity of administration and oversight as a large trust fund would provide. It is not in competition with other town agencies but helps to enhance public support for those agencies.

Charitable Bequests
Many of our donors use their wills or living trusts to make their most generous gifts. A charitable bequest is also an excellent way to create a living memorial. Bequests may be unrestricted or restricted in nature. Unrestricted gifts are pooled and managed by the Board of Directors to respond to the most pressing needs and to provide the most effective assistance. Restricted gifts designated for a particular purpose, interest or organization are administered in accordance with the donor’s wishes. Of course, anyone contemplating a large gift should seek the advice of an attorney or financial advisor.
